Assistant Vice President - Enrollment Management

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Admission's Department welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management

Salary Range

$115,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

The Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management (AVP) is a newly created position. Working cross-functionally, the AVP develops, supervises, and evaluates the strategic recruitment plan, including working with colleges to ensure a personalized and seamless approach to recruiting new and transfer students. The AVP will lead a collaborative effort to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure the University meets enrollment objectives with emphasis on serving our geographical region and the State of Texas. The AVP will work with regional ISDs, Odessa College, Midland College, and other key transfer partners to ensure strong relationships and develop innovative pathways between institutions to the benefit of students. The AVP will serve on the leadership team of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven decision maker and a team player who has a warm, collaborative nature, positive energy, possesses strong organization and prioritization skills. This person should be a self-motivated leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including outstanding writing and public speaking skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a variety of people.

1. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across academic units to ensure recruiting strategies align with program offerings and market demand.
2. Responsible for managing and overseeing new student recruitment activities, including actively leading enrollment projections and aggressive funnel management activities aligned with University enrollment management practices.
3. Ensure that all website content related to programs and admissions is updated and accurate.
4. Monitor recruitment travel and associated expenditures to create annual reports that evaluate recruitment effectiveness. Calculate ROI from targeted outreach events; provide creative and cost-effective ideas to increase innovation in recruitment strategies.
5. Work in active partnership with International Student Services and Graduate Studies. to implement an aggressive international recruitment strategy in support of the high international enrollment affiliated with this portfolio of programs.
6. Coordinate efforts to maximize outcomes by working in active partnership with Communications and Marketing. Assist in the development of admissions materials, events, and marketing practices.
7. Develop strong relationships with faculty and staff to support them in recruitment and enrollment efforts.
8. Proactively promotes and recruits school districts to be dual credit partners for the University.
9.Facilitate collaborative working sessions with faculty as well as academic and administrative leadership in enrollment and marketing, to identify and prioritize key selling messages, identify audience segments including recent graduates, the fully-employed, and potential transfer students. Develop recruitment plans and marketing communications that attract those audiences.
10. Cultivate on-going relationships with other departments - particularly financial aid and marketing, current students, and feeder schools.
11. Lead efforts within assigned units to support high-level use of the CRM (Slate) and SIS (PeopleSoft) in tracking analytics and creating and assessing metrics to support a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting team.
12. Supports the programs managed by the Welcome Center (i.e. Falcon Day, Information Sessions, Tours)
13. Supervises the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
14. Hire and supervise high-performing recruiters to work cohesively as a team to drive prospects through the recruiting cycle. Work closely with embedded recruiters in each of the colleges.
15. Works with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to develop and implement a successful on-boarding and training program for recruiters, admissions employees, and student employees.
16. Lead the entire cycle of the recruiting process while evaluating the team's workload to guarantee optimal recruitment activity.
17. Engage and inform prospective students and their parents and families about the University and the benefits of a UTPB education on an individual, small, and large group basis.
18. Inspire the community to actively participate in admissions events including individual and group tours, student shadow visits, curricular information sessions.
19. Establish and maintain relationships with local education leaders, counselors, and other key stakeholders.
20. Establish an expectation of communication standards and customer service when recruiting students and their families.
21. Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including area schools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in related field
2. Seven (7) years of progressive, relevant experience.
3. Documented work history that shows a record of increased responsibilities, including management experience; setting work priorities; handling multiple assignments; meeting deadlines; working with confidential information.
4. Functions at an expert level using mainstream software and all ongoing digital tools.
5. Able to work independently without supervision, take initiative, and handle emergency situations in a professional efficient manner.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree
2. Ten (10) years or relevant experience

Schedule

Generally, the hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Standard Working Conditions

1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation
