About the Graduate Program: As a graduate you'll build a diverse and relevant career platform learning our business, identifying your career path, and continuing to develop your skills for years to come. Starting in September 2024, you'll join an international cohort of Moody's RMS graduates. You'll begin with a month-long training program, learning from our network of leading developers, scientists, product managers, and customer success practitioners. Following this, you'll participate in our company rotation program, gaining direct experience across various teams and disciplines. Through your rotations you will enhance your knowledge of our products, how they are built, the companies who use them, and the industries managing catastrophe risk. Your work will span our products and markets, developing technical skills and knowledge, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
About the Team:The financial modeling and analytics team, part of Model Development group building world's best catastrophe models, focus on providing end-to-end solutions to analyzing the financial impact of RMS's catastrophe models. Our responsibility includes building analytical and simulation models for financial contracts and metrics for portfolio analysis including for insurance and reinsurance applications, developing algorithms, writing specs, building prototypes on distributed environment and implementing production software on AWS based SaaS platform. Our scope also includes machine learning applications in exposure data analysis, such as image analysis and large dataset mining using deep learning and classical machine learning tools. We also perform applied research in these areas.
As a Graduate in the financial modeling and analytics team, you'll complete rotations in up to five teams, you'll transition into your first permanent role in January 2026. We'll support your career growth to match your ambitions. Many of our team members began as graduates and have brought their skills to various roles and teams over time.
To succeed as a graduate, you should:- Enjoy solving analytical and technical problems.
- Present analyses effectively to diverse and challenging audiences.
- Communicate complex technical or scientific concepts, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate a continuous desire to learn new skills and concepts.
- Passion for the role of science and technology in understanding and managing risks.
- MS or PhD degree in STEM field
- Strong analytical skills with good understanding of probability and statistics.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Experience writing code in C#, Java, or C++
- Proficiency in additional technical skills relevant to spatial analysis, such as proficiency in GIS software and spatial databases
- Experience with sql for database management
- Experience with command-line interfaces and linux operating systems
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $68,900.00 -  $99,950.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
